What happens when you wear your art on your sleeve...

Artist Olive Sanderson has a solo show at MK Gallery this Sunday (October 9).  This is the low-down, by those wearing their art on their sleeves...

'This is not a normal art show, there will be no paintings. Instead they are displaying artefacts from performances. They have been wearing the same suit every day for a year as a performance.

Exhibiting documentation from some of their most recent durational performances, Olive Sanderson presents Void___Self > Confronting the self, a work where Sanderson resisted seeing their face for 16 months and Suit, a piece in which they wear the same tailored suit made of curtains, every day, for a year.

''I explore the world and rules around me through placing restrictions on myself'

Sanderson has been wearing the same suit made form curtains, everyday since October 2015
On Sunday - at 4pm in MK Gallery - they will stop wearing the same suit, and put on a new outfit, bringing the performance piece to an end.

Olive wants people to step outside of their realities and think about new ideas, changing their world in a simple way, by changing the rules they abide by. Not limiting themselves to societies expectations. Not limiting themselves to consumerism.'

Opening night is 9th October 2pm-7pm
Suit piece ends 9th October 4pm
Exhibition on 6th-16th October 2016
