FILM: See the city-wide premiere of Tomorrow at MK Gallery Events Space

Transition MK in collaboration with Independent Cinema Milton Keynes and MK Gallery are screening the city-wide premiere of Tomorrow as part of Friday Night Films, held weekly in MK Gallery Events Space.

Tomorrow follows a film crew as they go on a global quest for solutions to save the planet. Tomorrow was initially a huge phenomenon in France winning Best Documentary at the Cesar Awards (the French Oscars). It launched in December 2015 and has been watched by over 1.5 million people but until now had yet to have UK release.

The film tells the story of its co-producers, Cyril Dion and Melanie Laurent. In 2012 Cyril Dion, French activist, author and journalist, discovered a study in the journal Nature, stating that humankind could disappear between 2040 and 2100, if we don’t drastically change our way of life.

He shared his worries with his friend, actress and filmmaker Mélanie Laurent. They got together a small film crew and set off on a road trip around the world in search of solutions. Their journey takes them to England, US, India, Finland and Denmark.

Tomorrow (originally Demain) is a hugely positive, inspirational and affirming film, exploring creative solutions to food production, energy needs, transport, economics and education. It is currently on release in 29 other countries, regularly receiving standing ovations, and leading to the formation of new community projects, inspired by the film to do something positive to make change happen in our communities.

The film shows on Friday (March 3) at 7.30pm in the gallery project space.
