Transformers: The Last Knight

1 Star/Awful/Give this one a miss

Director: Michael Bay. (12a)

Synopsis from IMDb.com

Humans and Transformers (robot aliens from another world) are at war. Optimus Prime (the hero robot) is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth.
Review, by Jason Day

I shall heavily caveat this review, for the health and well-being of any Transformers fans out there who are having an embolism over the paltry lack of stars accompanying this film review: I am not representative of the producers' target audience.

Many of them (mostly teenage males) were entertained and amused by the 'robots from outer space help save the Earth' blockbuster that is also called Transformers 5.

That out of the way, what was my problem with this film?

Is the lightning swift editing, manically fast pace, soaring music and never-ending special effects too evolved for my ageing eyes and brain to process and thus enjoy?

Or is it that the above only irritates as it serves to mask the humourless, horribly acted drivel that lies underneath it?

Make your mind up folks but, rest assured, there will more than likely be a part 6. If you don't catch this one on the big screen, something awfully similar to it will be out in 18 months.
