Alias Kid join Black Grape for a Saturday night soiree at Northampton Roadmender

Signed by music mogul Alan McGee (Oasis, Primal Scream, Super Furry Animals) in 2013, Alias Kid have quickly amassed a reputation as one of the gutsiest rock’n’roll outfits to emerge from Manchester in recent years.

Releasing their riotous debut album ‘Revolt to Revolt’ in May of last year, Alias Kid were met with adulation by the critics as they announced themselves to the world with the long-player.

John Robb (Louder Than War) described the record as “a music of warmth and good times and party while you can”, whereas Music OMH hailed the band’s efforts as “a much needed riposte to the overbearing middle class bands that remain dominant just about everywhere you look these days.”

Throughout 2015 and 2016, Alias Kid have continued to gig relentlessly in pursuit of their now fearsome live reputation. Upping the ante and the octane with each show they play, Alias Kid have played stripe-earning sets at major festivals including Wickerman, Standon Calling, Isle of Wight and more, not to mention racking up a hefty number of sold out shows in their native Manchester, up-and-down the country and over seas.

Having scored an early fan in fellow Mancunian, Shaun Ryder, the Monday’s main man has invited the quintet to support both his Happy Monday and Black Grape projects at a string of massive UK shows - including Saturday's (Dec 10) final live shout of 2016 at Northampton's Roadmender.

With the taste of bigger venues very much lingering on their lips, expect big things as the band work steadily toward their keenly anticipated follow-up album.
