As she prepares the release of her memoir, Queen of folk Peggy Seeger is back in Milton Keynes

Peggy Seeger, the 82-year-old ‘Queen of Folk’ begins her Autumn UK tour at The Stables next Tuesday (October 3).

The tour coincides with the publication of her memoir, The First Time Ever (out on Faber & Faber on Thursday) and accompanying CD.

The singer songwriter and feminist icon will play a 20-date UK concert and literary festival tour, but Milton Keynes gets her first!

At 82 she is the undisputed queen of folk and political song with a charisma that shines as brightly as ever.

Concerts will feature Peggy and family members performing her and Ewan MacColl’s most treasured songs from a career spanning over 60 years interspersed with readings from her memoir and plenty of whip-smart banter.

Peggy has always had the ability to take an audience from laughter to tears and back again in the space of a few songs. Her memoir achieves the same in just a few paragraphs. Put the two together and it’s guaranteed to be a memorable night

Her concert on the 3rd will feature songs from a lifetime’s repertoire alongside readings from her memoir. She will be accompanied on stage by Calum MacColl, one of her sons with Ewan MacColl.
Famously, Ewan wrote ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’ for Peggy.
