DOWNLOAD: ALL THAT REMAINS GO ON THE RECORD ABOUT THE ROCK FEST

All That Remains cut loose their seventh album, The Order of Things (through Razor & Tie) earlier in 2015. Picking up the hard rock mantle some 15 years or so back, they have shifted in excess of one million records since. And counting. The Massachusetts monsters have the honour of opening the main stage at this year's Download Festival, on Friday, June 12,  playing before Clutch, Judas Priest and headliners Slipknot.  It's a pretty tasty spot to be in. Bassist Jeanne Sagan shared her Download hopes with Total MK...
How special is it to be playing at Download - the British home of rock and metal?

Download is one of those festivals you always hear about, DVDs are made of performances, lineups are always insane, and the pictures of seas of people are breathtaking. To think about being a part of it is like a dream to me.

We've played the main stage before, but it's not something I will ever get used to or take for granted.

What can the Download faithful expect from your set?

A mixture of songs that make All That Remains who we are.  Some metal, some rock, probably will even have a ballad thrown in there for good measure.

How will you spend the rest of your time on site?

Just taking it all in. Seeing as many bands and catching up with as many people as much as time allows.

I'm not sure how long we will get to stay since we are flying in.

Anyone else you are keen to check out?

Defeater, Sylosis, Dragonforce and pretty much every band on main stage.  I've never got to see the almighty and influential Judas Priest live.

I really hope we don't leave that early, haha.

Tell us about your best - and worst - festival experiences

The best experiences are always the crowds. There's nothing like the feeling of being onstage.  The worst usually involve porta potties, especially ones by the end of the day. Is that the appropriate plural for porta potty?

And what three festival essentials should Download ticket-holders be sure to pack before heading to the site?

Sunscreen, water, and an open mind.
