FOREST FOLK AND ROOTS CELEBRATES FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Forest Folk & Roots are celebrating hitting their first anniversary this week, and the Cranfield-based promotion has a grand line-up for you on Friday (May 13).

Pop to The College Arms Bar and you'll be greeted by MK duo Hope in High Water and their distinctly British take on Americana.

We last caught 'em at The Craufurd Arms a few weeks back and they were on fine form.

Really worth making tracks over to the venue early for, and guaranteed to figure among the setlist is material taken from their new EP release When Sorrow Calls.

Take a few bob extra in case they have stock with them.

Sicknote Steve then takes over with not one, but two sets ready to blow.

Cardiff's own tribute to the hobo blues brilliance of Seasick Steve recreates the sounds of the bearded bloke and his songbook.

You might be seated in Bedfordshire, but Sicknote will invoke the smoky atmosphere of the Mississippi Delta as he strums, slides and storms through raw-blues behaviour.

Doors at 7.30pm with the sounds live for you from 8pm.

It might be FF&B's birthday, but with this bill, they've given you the perfect gift.
