FROM PORTUGAL TO WOLVERTON FOR RECORDING SESSION!

When you find a studio you like, you just gotta go get it – and  that’s what singer-songwriter Karl Daly did, swapping Portugal for Wolverton!

The young singer-songwriter is Irish-born, but swapped the land of Guinness for the foreign climes aged six, when his father bought a bar!

My Dad went there on holiday and when he returned he said he’d bought a bar, so we all  moved from Ireland to Portugal and ran the bar as a family.”

And holidaymakers get to listen to Karl and his father, who entertain visitors daily.

But Portugal didn’t cut it when Karl (pictured) wanted to lay down a couple of single tracks.

Unit 9 was his preferred choice.

I became friends with Jamie Stimpson on Facebook and saw that he was part of the Unit Nine Recording Studios,” he says, recalling the first time he came across our recording hub.

...we got talking and he explained what the business was all about.

I loved the ethics behind it, and decided to come over and record a couple of singles that I’ve wanted to get finished.

It’s been an amazing experience and the team have helped guide, build and push what I have been working on, giving priceless tips and support.  I am very excited for what is to come.”

And though quite ‘what’s to come’ remains  to be seen, the future is looking bright.

In particular there are high hopes for a number called The Movie Song.

There is talk that it might be used for the title song of a feature film coming soon, which would be amazing.  We’ll see where that takes me!

I’ll continue writing, performing and growing my catalogue of music, and hopefully off the back of my next release I’ll be able to take solid steps forward in my career...”
