GIG: FOREST OF FOOLS ARE READY TO GET JIGGY WITH YOU

Forest of Fools were one of the real gems to emerge on the MK scene last year. They made folk fabulous, delivering a fusion of styles that stirred up a passion in plenty of folks.

A second album, the follow-up to All Good in the Wood, is set for release soon, but before then, go get your live fill – the band will be live at The College Arms in Cranfield this evening (Jan 15), at the latest instalment of the Forest Folk & Roots Club that we've been supporting over the past few months.

For the uninitiated, a ticket to see the boys at play throws up a maelstrom of sounds and styles – there's jazz and funk in there, and a little drum n bass.

Even the classical side is raked over when they feel like it.

The band says to expect 'sousaphone and didgeridoo driven bass overlain with high tempo dance enthusing folk-riffs.'

It's smart music made well, and without pretence.

Fancy getting jiggy with it?

Make your way to the venue for the 8pm start, and acoustic duo Pocket Full of Peanuts will support.

Tickets are on sale at £10 (£5 for students) and you get 'em direct from the venue or by tapping to www.wegottickets.com
