KOVE: 'PRODUCTION AT ELECTRIC DAISY CARNIVAL IS UNPARALLELED'

On July 11, Electric Daisy Carnival makes its second annual appearance in Milton Keynes, filling the National Bowl with a sensory spectacular.

In the lead up to the event, Total MK will be checking in with some of the music makers on the billing for an EDC probing.

This week, Kove is in the spotlight.

Since issuing Iodine, the MTA Records signing has spent the past few years wowing the masses with remixes for artists including Chase & Status, Bastille and John Newman's smash, Love Me Again.

Kove has gone from underground ace to Top 40 hitter. He answered our questions...

EDC boasts an unparalleled artist line-up.  Tell us what you bring to the party that is unique

I vary my dj sets a lot in terms of style and tempo, from dnb to house to everything in-between, just as long as it has got a hefty bassline.

How important is EDC as a brand?

Very Important. While so much dance music stems from the U.S, it never really had an outlet like we do over here, so EDC and other festivals have done a lot to bring dance music to a wider audience.

Tell us about your best EDC experience so far - on stage or off

EDC in Vegas last year was my first experience of playing in the U.S so it holds a special place.

Who will you be most looking forward to checking in with on the day?

I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of the DnB crew, aside from that I wouldn't mind seeing Tiesto as I've never seen him.

Your own set aside, how will you spend the rest of the day?

There is so many great acts playing this year so I'll try to check out as many as I can.

I might also have a drive around Milton Keynes, it has the highest number of roundabouts per-square-mile in the UK, you know.

EDC takes the live experience to a new level, but how do these huge outdoor events vary from the more usual show for you?

The production at EDC is unparalleled.

It really seems to be a very U.S based idea to have such over the top stages but it's really a sight to behold, so it is great that British punters get to have that experience.

It's definitely a departure from my usual shows though, as most of my shows are in clubs.

EDC aside, what does the rest of the summer have in store for you?

Plenty of gigs. I'll be over in the U.S for a bit then hitting up the festivals in the UK.

Give us your tips for the sounds of the summer, 2015.

Future House seems to be the genre on everyones lips at the moment, so I think there's going to be a lot more of that style coming to the fore this year.
