MODUS VIVENDI ON THEIR RETURN: "IT'S THE BEGINNING OF SOMETHING NEW..."

Back in play on Friday evening (Oct 31), The Modus Vivendi at The Craufurd Arms. When they first got their act together, back in 2004, they say they were 'fuelled by a passion to knock drinks out of people's hands!' "We wanted to create a sound that incorporated all of our musical influences, but one that was still unique and refreshing," they recalled. They delivered too, with a sexy soup of discordant, raw guitars, duel vocals and an aggressive live show and a half. Influenced by post-hardcore, grunge, math-rock and free-jazz they could hardly be anything else.  But all good things come to an end, and for The Modus Vivendi the lid came down on the music making for the first time in 2008. Now though, the amps are live, the creative juices flowing once more and the pals are back in session: A new EP is being worked on, and there are plans to play live in the new year too. It is, they say " the beginning of something new, older and wiser, but the same four friends making music for the sheer love of creating and experimenting..." Tickets are a fiver in advance, doors open at 7.30pm and support is coming from Antlered Man and Thirsty Work.
