MUSIC: INCANTATIONS CONCERNING MURDER AND GHOSTS AT MK GALLERY

Milton Keynes Gallery turns its attentions to art of the musical sort this Saturday (May 9).

Writer John Doran is teaming up with Norwegian Black metallers Arabrot for a performance of spoken words with music and readings from Doran's Jolly Lad book, and incantations concerning murder, black holes, ghosts and regional bus timetables.

Just your average sort of night out, then.

Experimental art noise duo Chrononautz have spent the past 15 years releasing work under various aliases.

There is a unique approach to techno at work here, and it's one that has seen them attract plenty of interest.

Nottingham quartet Cantaloupe take influence from afro-pop to krautrock and the avant garde.

Making 'infectious and throughly pleasing pop music' is their collective goal.

See how far they've come by wrapping your ears around their debut album - Zoetrope was issued in March.

Also figuring at the show, London-based duo Klaar and their emotive, lo-fi aesthetics moulded into skewed pop music and ambient environments.

Tickets are a fiver on the doors, from 8pm.
