MUSIC: JANET ROBIN GOES LIVE AT THE SUNSET LOUNGE

Janet Robin will be live at the Sunset Lounge in Newport Pagnell on Friday night (May 6).

A guitarist of proper cool stature, she has previously been employed as a touring member of the Lindsay Buckingham Band, Meredith Brooks' band and Air Supply.

Last year, her talents were employed by a certain Quentin Tarantino who called on her to coach lead actress Jennifer Jason Leigh for a scene in the movie, The Hateful Eight.

Tarantino wanted Leigh to feel confident and natural when playing guitar and singing in the role, and Robin was the gal for the job.

Michelle Shocked called her 'One of the best guitarists in the country: male or female,' and a few years back she teamed up with producer John Carter Cash – son of Johnny and June – for her fifth album, Everything Has Changed.

And better still, the album was recorded at Johnny's Cash Cabin Studios, where the country legend recorded much of his later year work, including his last work, American V: A Hundred Highways.

So good did the session pan out, that our fret-feeler has reconnected with John in 2016 – a new album is headed your way shortly.

First things first, though, and the dynamic singer-songwriter will be live after 8pm on Friday night, sharing tracks from her past catalogue, and we're pretty sure, some newbie numbers too.

Support comes from MKs own Sian Magill, and tickets are a snip at a fiver.
