TAKE A MAGIC CARPET RIDE THAT HAS NOWT TO DO WITH ALADDIN!

Indie royalty arrives at Northampton Roadmender on Saturday night (Dec 20) in the shape of the Inspiral Carpets.

Alongside The Happy Mondays, The Smiths, New Order and The Stone Roses, the Inspiral Carpets were an integral part of the Manchester music scene, and the early-nineties 'Madchester' movement.

The band scored numerous top 20 singles including ‘This Is How It Feels’, ‘Joe’, ‘Saturn 5’, ‘Move’, ‘Dragging Me Down’, ‘Caravan’, ‘She comes in the Fall’ and I Want You.'

The Inspirals also cracked the Top 10 with the albums, Life, Revenge of the Goldfish, The Beast Inside, Devil Hopping as well as unleashing a best seller ‘Greatest Hits’ collection.

They headlined the Reading festival in 1990 too. The Northampton show is one of the first UK indoor dates the band have played in more than two years, which is a good thing – it's a bit nippy outside right now!

New Manchester band The Blossoms and Bedford Indie urchins The Scruff have bagged the support slots at the Pad Presents bash.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets are £18 in advance.
