This week at The Stables: With Lucid, Gordie MacKeeman & His Rhythm Boys, Aynsley Lister and more...

Funny fella Henning Wehn begins a two night stand at The Stables this Thursday (Sept 22) evening.

Not that there's a hope of picking up tickets for either date – they've been sold-out for ages.

Lucid play on Stage 2 on Friday night (September 23) though, and the folk-rock band who came together following chance encounters on the Isle of Wight (true story), have since amassed a body of work four albums long, and have played more than 1000 shows.
And they are far from done yet.
Diverse influences and a rich musical talents make for an attractive proposition.

On Saturday night (September 24) the Johnny Cash Roadshow arrives to celebrate the man in black, and this is the only show that comes with an endorsement from the Cash family.
Singer-songwriter Clive John will introduce the Carter Sisters and the brass section JC Horns.
Emotive screen visuals will add more emotion to the mix.

There's more tribute time on the cards on Sunday evening (September 25) when No Jacket Required do their Phil Collins thing, pulling from the '76 Genesis album A Trick of the Tail all the way through to the '96 solo album Dance Into The Light.

It's all quiet on the Wavendon front on Monday night, but the venue will be open for business again on Tuesday (September 27) when Canadian Gordie MacKeeman & His Rhythm Boys hit the stage.
They'll serve you up a decent portion of old-time roots music with an energy level capable of yanking you from your seat by the collar!
If you are in the mood for close-harmony bluegrass vocals, blistering guitar solos and multi-instrumental talents, you've just found your desired.

Aynsley Lister plays on Wednesday (September 28) making a welcome return, and armed with his Guitarist of the Year gong courtesy of the British Blues Awards. Nice work, Mr Lister.
There is a new album too, though; material from Eyes Wide Open will be aired, and there will be time for Aynsley and his band to sate long time fans with a slew of popular favourites and classic cover versions.
You'll be hooked from the very first chord...
