THIS WEEK AT THE STABLES: WITH MARTYN JOSEPH, BACK TO BACHARACH, THE RIVER CHICKENS, THE EAST POINTERS & MORE...

Go Down Down, Deeper and Down with John Coghlan's Quo at The Stables this Thursday evening (Jan 28), when the former member of denim's finest rock mob asserts his erm, Status...

Expect a fusion of long-lost album tracks with a mixture of Quo's greatest hits.

Friday's (Jan 29) session by the Syd Lawrence Orchestra is fully booked, as is Hattie Briggs' return, over on Stage 2.

Singer-songwriter Martyn Joseph (below) returns to the Jim Marshall Auditorium on Saturday night (Jan 30).

The man described as 'the Welsh Springsteen' has a back catalogue to match, so expect plenty of thrills as he spills his creativity.

Feathers will be ruffled over on the snug stage on Saturday night, mind you, when The River Chickens strut in.

So far as this lot are concerned, music is not a spectator sport, it's an immersive experience.

Soaring harmony guitars and effortless melodies come together to make modern rock anthems, as heard on their debut EP, which has proven so popular it is now in its third re-press.

An album is slated for late summer.

There is limited availability for Back to Bacharach (top) on Sunday (Jan 31) night – only single tickets are available at the time of writing.

Make it snappy and check in with the box office for the opportunity to celebrate the music of one od the most accomplished composers of the 20th century.

The material is phenomenal: Alfie, Anyone Who Had a Heart, Arthur's Theme, Walk On By, What's New Pussycat?, 24 Hours from Tulsa, What's New Pussycat...classic after classic.

Those bringing Bacharach's brilliance to life have performed on tours of some of the biggest musicals around (West Side Story, Miss Saigon, The Phantom of the Opera) and as part of the Strictly Come Dancing tour. You'll be in safe hands.

Bach to Bacharach has also partnered with the Breast Cancer Now, donating £1 from every ticket sale to the charity, so your grand night out will also make a real difference.

Eighties hit-maker Howard Jones appears on Wednesday (Feb 3), but you've missed the boat on that one – his solo acoustic evening is a long time sold-out, but you can still check in with The East Pointers.

The Canadian trio will thrill fans of Celtic tunes with songs and step-dances moulded into something uniquely Canadian.
