BLAKE GIVE THEIR SUPPORT TO DIAMOND SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS

Diamond School of Performing Arts choir will join Brit Award winners Blake when they perform at The Stables this August. The acclaimed vocal group have been hunting for local choirs to join them on stage as part of their Live in Concert UK tour, and Diamond School - whose members range from eight to 21 years - are more than happy with their appointment. "Our students are thrilled to once again be singing with Blake at The Stables theatre," said Lucy Mann, who leads the Newport Pagnell collective. "The venue holds a special place in our hearts having sung there over several years welcoming guests including international musicians and entertainers to John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Laine's Christmas shows. "To be singing there again with Blake is such a privilege - one we are all looking forward to so very much," she said. Blake's Humphrey Berney has organised the campaign since it launched - so far they have been joined by more than 300 local choirs at shows. "We three all owe our careers, our success and the opportunity to travel the world, to the choirs that first let us sing with them as young children and teenagers," he said. "Singing with a group helps build confidence and without a doubt leads on to some people stepping forward to take on solo singing careers." Blake and Diamond School of Performing Arts choir will be be at The Stables on August 28 and 29. To book tickets call 01908 280800 or visit www.stables.org
