Charity: Frances is knitting up a storm to help Hula's animals

Forget about those mass-produced baubles and tinsel-types this Christmas and instead think about dressing your Christmas tree with knitted gingerbread people and p-p-p-penguins!

These oh-so-cute 'knits' are from the needle know-how of Frances Bell, who turns unused and left-over wool into wonderful animals and items, and sells them to raise essential funds for Hula Animal Rescue, in Aspley Guise, near Milton Keynes.

Hula is a wonderful centre providing warmth, food and cuddles for unwanted and rescued animals while they wait for a second chance at a fur-ever home.

But with more animals than ever ending up at Hula, the centre is always bustling with cats and dogs, and various other creatures - from mice to pigs.  Food, bedding and veterinary treatment is costly, and the cash pot always needs swelling, which makes Frances and her knits an important part of Hula's success.

Other goods Frances has for sale this Christmas include polar bears, Ferrero Rocher Christmas puddings, a ballerina decoration and a reindeer!
