Milton Keynes Dons chairman Pete Winkelman gives the Gift of Football to the town for #MK50 celebrations

MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman has today (Thursday) invited residents in the town to experience the beautiful game for free, as a part of MK's 50th birthday celebrations.

The offer is open to anyone with an MK postcode, and they will be able to claim a free ticket to the Dons' first home league match against Bolton Wanderers on February 4.  The team will play the match in a special gold kit, revealed today, which is emblazoned with the MK50 logo.

“Milton Keynes is a truly special and unique place and I’m proud to say it is my home. The people of Milton Keynes have shown me so much support over the years and I wanted to give everyone a gift that would celebrate MK50,” said Pete.

“The Gift of Football is a great opportunity for my neighbours in the new city to come together to celebrate this milestone for Milton Keynes, as well as a chance to experience Stadium MK if they haven’t had the chance to so already.”

All MK Dons Season Ticket holders and Club Dons members outside the MK postcode will also be able to claim a free ticket for the match as part of the Club’s MK50 celebrations.

The free ticket will be limited to one per person with proof of address required at the time of redemption. Any one of any age is eligible for the free ticket; but the ticket must be claimed by over-18s only.   Tickets can be redeemed at the MK Dons box office at Stadium MK and from the MK Dons kiosk located on Silbury Arcade at centre:mk

It's a brilliant way to mark the new city's special birthday, and will also enable the 'football-shy' element in the city to experience the thrill of the stadium.
