WORLD SPAY DAY: NEUTERING OFFER FOR PETS IN MILTON KEYNES

To help promote cat neutering, the North Bucks branch of the RSPCA is collaborating with animal welfare organisations to mark World Spay Day on 23rd February 2016.

And this year benefit claimants in Milton Keynes are being given the opportunity to neuter their female rabbits at the same time as their female cats – at the brilliant price of just £20 per pet!

That’s not all, when you take up the neutering offer you can opt to have you pet microchipped at the same time for just £5 each more!

Why Neuter your Cat? There are two reasons for neutering only female cats. Firstly, the branch has limited funds to support a full neutering programme. Secondly, research carried out by the national RSPCA has found that to tackle feline overpopulation it is vital to neuter female cats to eliminate pregnancy resulting in litters of unwanted kittens.

Why Neuter your Rabbit? Other than preventing unwanted pregnancy there are dangerous health implications for leaving female rabbits un-neutered. Up to 80% will develop uterine cancer by 5 years of age, so neutering really does save their life.

They also have phantom pregnancies which can be very stressful.

When your lady rabbit is neutered she will be less likely to be aggressive towards you and other rabbits.

Do you qualify? To qualify you must live within our branch area and to be in receipt of one of the following income-related benefits:

Income Support Housing Benefit Jobseekers Allowance Employment Support Allowance Pension Credits

How to claim Contact the RSPCA on 01908 611179 and leave a message. Please be patient, a volunteer will respond as soon as they are able to.
