DANCE: 'THE REEVES AND MORTIMER OF CHOREOGRAPHY,' TO HOST A WORKSHOP IN MK THIS WEEKEND

They have been called ‘the Margot Fonteyn(s) of comedy’, ‘the Reeves and Mortimer of contemporary choreography and ‘the Gilbert & George of dance’ and this weekend MK dance types get to benefit from the creative force that is Tom Roden and Pete Shenton, aka New Art Club.

Motus Dance will host a workshop with Pete on Sunday (Feb 28), which will emphasise creativity and exploration of ideas through inspiring and fun tasks.

'We will explore the devising process of New Art Club’s dance theatre using physical explorations, improvisation, discussion, verbal and dance based tasks,' said a spokesman.

'The aim of the work is to increase understanding of your own creative process as well as to introduce new possibilities for working with and exploring ideas.'

New Art Club was formed in 2001 by Tom and Pete, and is fuelled by their shared spirit of adventure.

Loved by audiences and critics alike, they create work which is a unique blend of dance and comedy. "Think Morecambe and Wise at Sadler's Wells,”said Chortle's Bruce Dessau.

The course runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm and the full day fee is a bargain £25.
