LIGHTS OUT AT MK THEATRE

Milton Keynes Theatre, part of the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), will be supporting WWF’s Earth Hour on Saturday (March 28).

Millions of people all over the world switch off their lights for one hour to show their support at the global, annual event – a spectacular and symbolic lights out initiative focusing the world’s attention on our planet, and the need to protect it.

In 2014, a record-breaking 162 countries and 7000 towns and cities joined.

In the UK more than nine million people and more than 1,000 businesses took part, including more than 200 of the country’s most iconic landmarks.

Big Ben, the Palace of Westminster, Buckingham Palace and Wembley Stadium all switched the lights off in support.

On Saturday, at 8.30pm, MK Theatre will celebrate Earth Hour by switching off the external flytower and waveform floodlights, and inside the foyer, the truss or ceiling lighting will be turned off for the hour.

We are proud to take part in Earth Hour and our employees are excited to be involved with such a great and inspiring event,” said Rosemary Squire, ATG’s Joint CEO.

Everyone can make a difference to help protect our planet and we all have a key role to play.”

Everyone can sign up for WWF’s Earth Hour 2015 and have a real and lasting impact beyond the hour. It’s a brilliant reminder that together we can make change happen and a chance to think about the small things we can do every day to help create a brighter future.
