ON TRACK: 'GEORGE HARRISON' WAXES LYRICAL WITH TOTAL MK

Fans of the Fab Four will want to check in at MK Theatre this March – The Bootleg Beatles, one of the best tribute bands on the circuit, are coming to town.

This bunch of perfect imposters have spent decades touring the music of John, Paul, Ringo and George, and played their first date 35 years ago!

The band will deliver a two-hour multi-media spectacular on March 15.

£30.90 won't buy you love, but it will buy you a ticket to ride.

Boom, and indeed, boom.

Stephen Hill, aka George Harrison, took on Total MKs On Track challenge, sharing his musical raves with us...

The song that first awakened your musical senses

Gene Pitney's Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart. Apart from his great vocal, the build up to the end of the track is fantastic!

Physical or digital – how do you take your music?

At home I play vinyl, but when I'm on the road it has got to be my iPad I'm afraid

The first time you thought 'Music – this is the job for me'

On discovering The Beatles in Liverpool in 1990 when I was visiting family!

Your best on stage memory...

Playing to Brian Wilson and Al Jardine in the West End when they came to see us during a break in the 50th anniversary tour

And the worst gig you've ever done

Mmm, there were quite a few in my teens. Live and learn, and all that

Abbey Road

What made you take up the guitar?

When I was really young it was Scotty Moore as I was a huge Elvis fan. I still am. As time went on it was Steve Craddock of Ocean Colour Scene, the greatest guitar player of that period, full stop.

He looked, walked and talked the part. Still does!

Which one song by another artist do you wish you had written?

Just a Little Misunderstanding by The Contours...class!

And one – by yourself – which holds special significance

A song called Keep on Walking. Hammond organ, heavy guitar, harmonies. What more d'ya want?

If you could step into the shoes of another musician, living or dead, who would it be and what would you do?

James Brown or Sam Cooke? Steve Marriott or Brian Jones? Self explanatory as to why, but absolutely impossible to answer

Are there any current musical influences that you might look to?

Absolutely not!

And any genre of music that you simply can't stand?

Whatever gets to Number One these days, that'll probably be it!

Finally, plug your date at MK Theatre.

Do yourselves a favour and get a ticket. You'll be glad you did!
