ROY ORBISON REMEMBERED WITH MULTI-MEDIA SHOW

When Roy Orbison passed away, aged just 52 in 1988, the music world mourned the loss of a legend.

He left in his wake a classy catalogue that is revered today, and means that tributes to the man who was fondly referred to as The Big O, are many.

Not nearly as many have the class and calibre that you get when you seen Barry Steele at work though.

Barry has spent more than a decade at play as the man in the big-rimmed specs, and has toured widely to acclaim - even performing in front of Roy's son.

On Friday night (Jan 16) Barry presents a fired-up date at Milton Keynes Theatre, with multimedia elements providing a contemporary show for Roy's loyal fan base.

A live band and big screen footage will be interspersed with factoids and images of Orbison through the years.

"Orbison's songs not only have wonderful melodies and tunes, the lyrics are some of the most sublime ever written," Barry said.

"Orbison is known as a balladeer, but he also recorded and performed rocky and contemporary songs...which are quite simply timeless."
