THEATRE: DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS RAISES THE SMILES

The classic comedy film starring Sir Michael Caine and Steve Martin has been turned into a winning stage play, and on Tuesday (Sept 22), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will begin a five-day stay of fun at Milton Keynes Theatre.

You'll be taken on a journey to the French Riviera, where two seasoned swindlers are attempting to hoodwink a millionaire heiress.

But as they compete for her affections (and her cash) they realise there is only room for one of them.

But which one?

Michael Praed, whose last role here saw him starring as Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, is sophisticated conman, Lawrence.

Former Hear'Say singer Noel Sullivan is cast as larger-than-life upstart hustler Freddy, and former Hollyoaks actress Carley Stenson follows previous stage success in Shrek, Spamalot and Legally Blonde as the not so so dumb blonde heiress.

Stalwart performer Gary Wilmot is also back, revisiting the role of Andre, a part he recently delivered in the West End.

Wit, laugh-out-loud antics and the warmth of the golden age of the classical musical come together for a sparkly night out.
