WOLVERTON G&S SOCIETY: OFF TO THE INTERNATIONAL GILBERT AND SULLIVAN FESTIVAL THIS WEEK

Wolverton Gilbert & Sullivan Society continues its 40th anniversary celebrations with a special performance as part of the fringe at the 2015 International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Harrogate.

The Society is delighted to have been accepted to perform its production of The Zoo at this prestigious event in a unique collaboration with its sister society, Putteridge Bury G & S.

With music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by B. C. Stephenson, this rarely performed farce follows two pairs of lovers.

The first, a nobleman in disguise who eats himself stupid to woo the girl who runs the refreshment stall at the local zoo, and the second a young chemist who believes he’s poisoned his beloved!

With a sharp and witty plot that twists and turns delightfully, the British public enjoy a lovely day out with a little touch of drama.

The double bill takes place this Saturday (August 22) and also features a fairy tale production of 'Trial by Jury' by Putteridge Bury G& S Society.

Members from both societies are taking part in both shows.

Tickets are available from the Festival Box Office: www.gsfestivals.org/content/harrogate-theatre-programme
