MPMG Bradwell Silver band Since then he has played with GUS Band, and following time in HM Coldstream Guards he studied at theRoyal Academy of music. Post-graduation he worked as a freelance trumpet player with leading symphony orchestras and on West End shows. Naturally, he is looking forward to his return to his first musical home: "I am very excited...generations of my family from both sides have been born and brought up in New Bradwell," Ben said. "This concert is a poignant reminder for me as my Great Uncle Bertie Hewitt was killed on the Western Front, so this occasion is going to be a very fitting tribute from me to him and all the others who didn't come home to New Bradwell after the First World War," he added. "I am very proud to be returning to Bradwell Silver Band who were my very first band and who taught me how to play," he added. The concert will include modern material and WWI songs before a 'Last Night of the Proms' finale. "Our band was formed in 1901, and regrettably lost members due to World War One," said musical director Brian Keech. "To be able to commemorate the lives of everyone who was affected by the war is important and the fact that we have Ben as our guest will make the evening even more special." Tickets are on sale at £8 (£7 for concessions). Call 01908 616463 to book.
