CLASSICAL ACES PERFORM IN AID OF COSGROVE CHURCH

May there be Music is the title of a concert being held at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone this Saturday (May 9), with celebrated concert pianist Warren Mailley-Smith and operatic soprano Susan Parkes.

The performers are making their Milton Keynes debut to raise funds for Cosgrove's 11th century church in need, St Peter and St Paul.

Monies raised at the event will go towards the upkeep and repair of the pretty little holy house.

Saturday's programme includes pieces by Chopin (Waltzes), Mozart (Aria), Chopin (Sonata No.2 in B flat), Faure (Apres un reve), Grieg (Wedding Day at Troldhagen) and Gershwin (Rhapsody in Blue).

Warren has made solo debuts to great acclaim at London's Wigmore Hall, and across the pond in New York, at Carnegie Hall.

Oh, and there have been more than 30 requests for him to perform before the British Royal Family, at Buckingham Palace, Highgrove House and Sandringham House.

Think they like him?

Susan - a Royal College of Music graduate scholar - featured as soloist in the world premiere of Armed Man's Mass for Peace, which went to the top spot in the Classical charts, and she recently won the 12th International Unberto Giordano voice competition, in Italy.

Tickets are £12 and £10 and doors open at 7.30pm.
