ENJOY A BLUE-TIFUL SPRING WALK

This weekend's Park's Trust organised Bluebell Walk at Howe Park Wood is already sold out. The annual event always proves a popular draw with people wanting to enjoy the springtime outdoors, and the carpet of delicate flowers that rise up in our wild areas. But although the official walk is fully booked, you can still pay a visit and enjoy the flowers at your leisure, of course. "For wildflower displays throughout spring and early summer be sure to visit our ancient woods Linford Wood, Howe Park Wood and Shenley Wood for wood anemones, celandines, primroses and bluebells," advises Parks Trust events co-ordinator Julie Dawes. "There are also some fantastic walks at the Milton Keynes Walking Festival on Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11, where you will be able to spot wildflowers." For more information about that, visit www.theparkstrust.com    > The Women's Walking Network will also be active next week.  On Thursday (May 1) ladies are invited to meet up for a walk around the Ouze Valley Park. If you would like to join with them, meet in the car park opposite the water garden, Newport Road, Woughoton on the Green, off the H7 Chaffron Way. Walkers will set off at 10am and it costs £1 per person.   DSCN3766
