Enjoy A Victorian Christmas here in Milton Keynes

Christmas really is the most magical time of year, and Milton Keynes Museum is abiding by the festive rules and promises that its Christmas past is the best Christmas present you can give.

The seasonal spectacular takes visitors back in time to A Victorian Christmas and will wow you with sparkle, fun and wonder. It will be the most warming Christmas event at the coldest time of year.

Visitors will be greeted by the house butler with a welcoming tray of mulled wine (for those old enough) and squash (for little people), before enjoying Carols by Candlelight in the parlour and Christmas crafts in the old schoolroom. Even the teddy bears will be getting ready for Christmas in their own toy workshop!

A Victorian Christmas is by Royal Appointment too – HM Queen Victoria will be visiting.

Feeling hungry? How about making your own hot buttered toast the old-fashioned way in the farmhouse kitchen, or nibbling on freshly roasted chestnuts in the blacksmith's forge?

Over in the farming barn, a Christmas market will tempt you.

The Granary cafe will be serving its famous cakes and adding to the festive feel with mince pies and hot chocolate, and then, when you've followed the twinkling lights through the museum grounds and enjoyed all of the cosy cheer in the farmhouse, you'll be ready for the most magical part of all – a meeting with Santa and his elves.

They will be greeting youngsters in the toy workshop – and each little visitor will receive a gift to take home.

Santa has many presents to sort and reindeer to prepare for his Christmas travels, and so A Victorian Christmas will be open on the following weekends only:

Week One: Friday 2nd, Saturday, 3rd and Sunday 4th December
Week Two: Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Sunday, 11th December
Week Three: Friday 16th, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th December
