FESTIVAL FRINGE: WALK WITH GIANTS THIS WEEKEND IN CMK

A 'highlight' of the MK Arts calendar in every way, the Walking with Giants Parade returns once again on Sunday (July 20). The huge community event - produced by the creative Festive Road hub - attracted in the region of 10,000 people in 2014...and they want more still to pay attention this time. Lots of the puppets are produced locally at schools, at MK Gallery, the Play Association, and at many workshops in the area. Festive Road don't just organise the visual extravaganza either - they have arranged this year's new street production Jurassic Jockeys - with huge animated dinosaur skeletons! MPMG Walk with Giants 2 Music will come from London-based Rhythms of the City, Wolverton's Samba group Lobo Tren, and Bletchley-based Star Light Samba. This is one of those rare occasions when it's okay to be looked down on - how else can you communicate with stilt groups Extreme Ramblers and Concrete Circus? Walking with Giants will begins at around 9.30am on Sunday, when dance performances, acrobatic displays, street entertainment and Samba drumming workshops will be filling the area, before the parade leaves Midsummer Boulevard, near Grafton Gate at Midday, snaking its way towards its resting place of the Theatre District. Once there, plenty more MK Fringe activity will reveal itself. For more information, clickety-click to www.mkfestivalfringe.com
