Love Willen Day will make a splash in Milton Keynes this week

Willen Lake, Milton Keynes’ most popular park, is hosting a special day of games and activities on Friday (August 4).


Love Willen Day will give everyone from toddlers to adults the opportunity to try special taster watersports sessions and activities, including wakeboarding at WakeMK and the new Splash ‘n’ Play.


The event will be held at the south lake between 10am and 4pm, with the following activities available:


10am – 10:30am & 10:30am – 11am: free 25min sessions at Splash ‘n’ Play (suitable for toddlers up to 13 years of age)
10am – 12pm: free 30min kayaking taster sessions (suitable for those aged eight years and above)
11am – 2pm: free 15 min turbo paddlers sessions (suitable for three to eight-year-olds, weight restrictions apply)
11am – 2pm: free 15min sessions on the pedalos (Each pedalo must have an adult on board)
12pm – 2pm: free 30min sailing taster sessions (suitable for those aged eight years and above)
1:30pm – 3:30pm: wakeboarding taster sessions, 30min for £5 (suitable for those aged eight years and above who can swim 50m)
10am – 4pm: The Parks Trust’s education team and rangers will be hosting a range of children’s activities and games on the railway lawn

Rob Wood, general manager for Willen Lake, said: “Now the summer holidays are here we knew people would be on the lookout for ways to entertain their children, so we wanted to hold a special day at Willen Lake offering a wide variety of games, activities and sports for all to enjoy.


“All the activities are either free or available at a discounted rate, and there’s really something for everyone. Willen Lake is a beautiful park with lots to do and Love Willen Day will allow us to showcase everything the site has to offer. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to try out our new Splash ‘n’ Play for free!”
