Milton Keynes Cornerstone Chamber Choir and Orchestra are in celebratory mode - with lots of reasons for musical cheer

Milton Keynes Cornerstone Chamber Choir and Orchestra are hosting a very special concert on Sunday (July 23).

It’s a three-fold celebration for the 50th Anniversary of Milton Keynes, the 25th Anniversary of the City Church, and the 25th Anniversary of the Cornerstone Chamber Choir and Orchestra!

The Choir and Orchestra was formed in the summer of 1992 for a special concert to raise money for a Romanian children’s home set up by Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in Bacau, Romania.

The anniversary concert will offer a popular programme:
Handel’s Coronation Anthem ‘Zadok the Priest’,
Mozart’s beautiful ‘Laudate Dominum’
Brahms ‘ How lovely are thy dwellings fair’
Parry: I was glad
Mascagni: ‘Easter Hymn’ from Cavalleria Rusticana,
popular operatic choruses from Verdi’s Nabucco and Aida
John Rutter: Psalm 150

Completing the programme, two wonderful young soloists with special links to MK City Church, Flautist Abigail Burrows (who first played at the Church as a nine year old) will play MOZART: FLUTE CONCERTO IN G, and MK-born Craig Greene will play the great GRIEG: PIANO CONCERTO.

Showtime is 7.30pm and tickets - £16 (conc £15.50), £13.50 (conc £13) and £1 (children) are available in advance by calling 01908 246486 or by emailing cornerstone.music@tesco.net or you can purchase on the door.
