Polymnia Choir are joined by soprano sensation Lesley Garrett for their anniversary celebrations

The incomparable Lesley Garrett returned to Milton Keynes on Saturday night, to join with Milton Keynes’ Polymnia Chamber Choir as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations.

The venue - the Church of Christ the Cornerstone - was packed with fans with eager ears, and they were well catered for, as was best put by one fan who made the trip from Nottingham for the show.

“This was an exceptional concert with a superb choir which sang perfectly with Lesley. They have to be one of the best choirs that I have seen Lesley perform with, if not the best.

“With only 19 members on stage, they produced some gorgeous sounds and blends, with so much variation in sound, volume and effects (often referred to by those better qualified than me as "light and shade"). It was clear how much Lesley and Anna enjoyed performing with such a capable choir.”

Organisers praised Lesley for her warm and generous nature and she spent lots of time post-show chatting with those who attended the date.

> The next Polymnia date for your diary is with the Milton Keynes City Orchestra strings on Saturday, December 3 in Newport Pagnell.
