Prepare to tuck in - Milton Keynes Feast returns this weekend

MK FEAST, Milton Keynes’ bi-annual independent food and drinks festival will see its fifth instalment at Bradwell Abbey on Sunday (December 17).

Initiated by MK Food Revolution, the festival will showcase the best of Milton Keynes’ home-grown products and produce in a family-friendly and seasonal atmosphere.

For this winter’s edition of MK Christmas FEAST, ten artisan cold food stalls, fourteen select arts and craft businesses and six street food vans will set up camp for the day.

There will be seasonal live music, provided by the Wolverton Town Brass Band and other artists. Milton Keynes’ specialist craft beer shop, the MK Biergarten, will run a local craft beer and mulled wine bar.

Event organiser Franzi Florack says: "Christmas is a brilliant time for all of us to support the small businesses of Milton Keynes and buy presents which are made with care. At Christmas FEAST, we are delighted to offer the best parts of a Christmas market, combined with street food and entertainment for kids. "The atmosphere in the abbey is very festive and it’s going to be a great day out for the whole family."

MK FEAST has become a regular event in the diary of many Milton Keynes food lovers and two  further dates are already planned for 2018. The first event in January 2016 was organised due to a lack of city-centre opportunities for independent traders.

"Much has happened in the Milton Keynes food scene over the last two years and we are delighted that residents are increasingly recognising our fantastic local offer," said Franzi.

Sunday's event will run between 11am and 4pm.  Vegan and vegetarian dishes will also be on offer. The farmers market will boast locally made bread, chocolate, chutneys, honey, juices and cakes and visitors can round off their day by shopping for soap, photography and other art as well as flowers from the area.
Face-painters and henna art will be on offer for the youngest visitors and Mk Food Revolution are running a tombola in aid of MK Snap.

Entry is free, but visitors are encouraged to donate to Willen Hospice and MK Snap on the day.
