Proms in the Park return to Campbell Park this week - ready the flags and prepare the fizz!

It’s time for the annual Proms in the Park event this Friday night (August 19).

As we previously reported, Milton Keynes City Orchestra will be joined by soprano Jeni Bern as the event soloist.

Jeni will perform a repertoire of Opera and Musical Show favourites, including pieces from My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music. Puccini’s O Mio Babbino Caro will also figure.

Jeni’s powerful soprano voice will also lead the audience in the rousing finale featuring Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory.

A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Opera School of the Royal College of Music, Jeni has won many major awards and prizes, including a Wingate Scholarship and the prestigious President Emerita Award.

Throughout her career, Jeni has performed regularly on BBC Radio 2’s iconic Friday Night is Music Night and BBC Radios 3 & 4, as well as with the Dutch Radio Symphony Orchestra.

“We are delighted to present such quality performers to our MK audiences,” said a spokesman for MKCO.
“This year we have also enhanced the sound and lighting quality, installed a big screen to bring the audience closer to the performance and there is a new twist with the dramatic firework display at the end.”

Book for a wonderful evening in the glorious surroundings of Campbell Park Amphitheatre.
