RSPB CHIEF FLIES IN FOR MILTON KEYNES ANNIVERSARY EVENT

It's not only Her Maj who is celebrating a special birthday in 2016 – the North Bucks RSPB Group is 40 years young.

And while they've never been out to ruffle feathers, they haven't half enjoyed some chirpy talks over the years. And there's more nattering on Thursday night (May 12), when RSPB chief Dr Mike Clarke flies in for a visit.

Mike will be giving a presentation and holding a Q&A session for the assembled.

Group leader Chris Ward will also have a presentation featuring some of the highlights from the vaults, and former group leaders Jacky Gulliver and Jim Parsons will be making their return to share in the anniversary.

Birthday cake is a distinct possibility. A chocolate nest would be fitting, surely?

As is traditional, Thursday's meeting is being hosted at The Cruck Barn at the City Discovery Centre, Bradwell Abbey.

Doors open at 7.15pm for a prompt start at 7.45pm.

Admission is £2.50 for group members, £3.50 for non-members, children a quid.
