STREET FOOD & FUN DAY FOR MK: THERE'S AN URBAN GRILLA IN THE MIDST!

Local caterers Urban Grilla have cooked up a Food and Fun day being hosted in Wolverton on Saturday (July 2) – and this tasty event will shine a light on Milton Keynes based vendors and producers.

Bringing street food for all the family to the fore, the pop-up event is being held at Wyvern School between 11am and 5pm.

Food will come from vendors including the Good Times Cafe and their oh-so-cheesy grilled sand- wiches, and there will be Tex-Mex from the Taco Shack who beef up their burritos with chilli sauces from the mild to the hot – and the raging inferno, for those brave enough!

Event organisers Urban Grilla will be barbecuing locally sourced free range chicken, pork and lamb, and Mr & Mrs Fitz Fabulous will serve a free-rang hog roast with all the trimmings.

Those with a sweet tooth will be in luck, thanks to the Wooden Spoon Baker who knows a thing or two about great cake.

And the bar will be open, staffed by Milton Keynes’ first micro-pub MK Biergarten who will be serving a selection of local and craft beers to whet your appetite.

We feel it is important to support local farmers, bakeries, grocers and other local businesses and want this event to introduce people to some great local street food and artisan products made by people with a passion for what they do,” said Gordon Walker from Urban Grilla.

We have learned from each other and are all keen to create a street food scene in Milton Keynes like the ones we have experienced in other towns and cities around the country. There is definitely an appetite for street vendors offering quality, handmade food and products,” she added.

The family friendly event will also feature arts and crafts, face painting and a bouncy castle, and you can banish stresses with a head or foot massage. Entry is free.
