STRICTLY COME DANCING BRINGS ITS SPARKLE TO WOBURN ABBEY

Woburn Abbey is to showcase the largest and most comprehensive public display of dresses worn by the celebrities and professional dancers from the 2014 cast of BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in a new exhibition entitled Strictly Dresses: Woburn Abbey.   Opening on Saturday, August 15 and running until Sunday November 1st 2015, Woburn’s magnificent Long Gallery will provide the backdrop for this glittering display.

Visitors will have the chance to view 16 of the dresses from last year’s show, designed by Strictly Come Dancing’s current dress supplier, Dancesport International (DSI).

The Abbey is a truly wonderful setting to house the 2014 collection of ‘Strictly’ dresses and I hope the visitors will revel in seeing the dresses up close in the exhibition,” said Vicky Gill, Strictly Come Dancing’s current costume designer from DSI.

I’ve been working on designing the ‘Strictly’ dresses since the 2nd series in 2005, and it never tires.

It involves a lot of hard work from both teams at DSI and the BBC but it’s all worth the effort as we begin to prepare for yet another series of fun, fantasy and glamour.”
