WHAT'S ON: GROOVY GECKO AT THE SLUG AND LETTUCE

The Groovy Gecko club night returns this Tuesday evening (May 6) with a Karaoke Special at its usual base, the recently refurbished Slug & Lettuce in the Theatre District. Groovy Gecko - a club night for adults with disabilities - is managed by the community arts charity Inter-Action MK and run by learning disabled adults, for learning disabled adults. Monthly, more than 200 people have been enjoying the events, which have been running for the past seven years. They make a real difference to those who attend, too: "Groovy Gecko means I have friends. I have met lots of friends here and I feel normal,” explained one regular, “That's a big thing for me.” Adrian Pinckard is director of Inter-Action MK: “I am always amazed by the great atmosphere, how friendly all the club goers are and what a fantastic time they always have – but don't just take my word for it. Get down there and see for yourself,” he encouraged. The event will run for four hours from 6.30pm. For more information visit www.interactionmk.org.uk   GG-01 copy
