Whitespace Studio hold fresh air charity yoga event in Milton Keynes

Whitespace Studio’s special annual charity yoga event at the Peace Pagoda is back on Sunday (August 13) raising money for Willen Hospice.

The al-fresco event returns for a seventh year and promises to bring even more colour and sparkle with its festival theme.

From the jazziest leggings, flower crowns or a touch of face glitter, participants are encouraged to join in the fun with a touch of festival attire but is not essential to take part. Whitespace Studio will have a glitter station, face painters and spare festival attire on site for those wanting to join in the festival spirit on the day.

Whether a practiced yogi or a yoga novice, the class is designed to be relaxed and enjoyable for all levels and ages. No experience is necessary, just an open mind and a rolled out mat. The yoga studio will be bringing along some spare mats for those who are keen to try out the practice but don’t own one.

At 1.30pm, Yoga Teacher and Studio Director, Deborah Berryman will lead a fun themed 90-minute open air practice in front of the Peace Pagoda at Willen Lake. The class is free but participants are encouraged to make a suggested £10 donation to local charity, Willen Hospice which will be collected by the team on the day.

Last year, the annual Yoga Social attracted over 200 people with everyone from kids to grandparents, and even dogs taking part. This year is expected to be even bigger with a mixture of experienced practicers as well as new guests - bringing the community together. After the class, everyone is welcomed to bring along delicious food and join in the Yogi Summer Picnic from 3-5pm.

Deborah Berryman, Founder and Director of Whitespace Studio said: “We were overwhelmed with the turnout last time and everyone had so much fun with our festival themed class last year which is why we decided to bring it back with a few extra surprises to make it extraordinary.”

Berryman continues: “We are so proud to be supporting Willen Hospice for another year as it’s a charity dear to our hearts and we’re touched by the work they do. With it being a year of celebrations for MK50, it makes the event even more special so we invite the community to round up friends, families and colleagues for an enjoyable day out.”

Whitespace Yoga and Wellbeing Studio is based in heart of Stony Stratford and offers over 50 classes each week catering to all abilities.
