YAPPETY YAP: THE DOGS DAY OUT IS BACK IN SWANBOURNE

On Sunday (April 10) Swanbourne Park hosts the annual Dogs' Day Out, a canine friendly affair raising funds for the superb Medical Detection Dogs charity.

Pooches will have plenty of opportunity to show their style off -with gun dog scurry events, a Kennel Club-registered Companion Dog Show with both pedigree and novelty classes and have-a-go events such as agility, obedience and doggy paddle.

Little folks on two legs will be able to indulge in lots of fun of their own, with an obstacle course, tractor rides and bouncy castle to engage with.

Around the site, trade stalls will offer everything from artisan foods and country wear, and try your luck at the tombola and raffle.

Food will be served too – from cheese toasties to soup and cakes.

Fancy a swift one? The bar will be open for business too, or if you'd rather, pay a visit to the tea tent for a gentler sip!

In 2015 this fun event attracted more than 1000 visitors, and enough money to pay for the entire training of a cancer detection dog.

These animals do invaluable work, helping medical professionals to detect diseases like breast and bladder cancer, as well as training Medical Alert Dogs to help people live with life threatening conditions including epilepsy and diabetes.

With your help, this fourth annual event could be the best so fat.

Gates open for Dogs' Day Out at 10.30am and conclude with the traditional prize giving at 3.30pm.

Entry is £2 per car and all monies go to the MDD.
