YORKIEFEST: CASH RAISING FOR BHF AND DIABETES UK

The annual YorkieFest has a full, swell line-up ready to play for you this weekend, in support of this year's nominated charities The British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

York House in Stony Stratford is the hosting venue, which will be all a-bustle with live music from Second Hand Grenade, Roddy Clenaghan Band, The Fabuloators, Navaras, Judecca Nights, 234 Band, David Cattermole, Lois Barret, Mark Owen, Naomi Rose, Jenkinsons Folly, Vanessa Horton (the Bard of Stony) and storyteller Red Phoenix.

A real ale bar will serve you up the wet stuff, and hot and cold food will be served at the Good Times Cafe.

Feel like standing out from the crowd? Over to the face-painting corner with you, then.

They'll take care of things.

A couple of sobering facts to bear in mind in light of the chosen charities; Every three minutes in the UK someone is struck by a heart attack, with 30% proving fatal, and currently four million people in the UK live with diabetes.

With so much to cram in, you'll not be surprised to learn this is an all-dayer, with doors at 1.30pm for a 2pm start on Saturday (May 14).

Tickets will set you back just a £10 for the full day, or £7.50 after 6pm, and music set to roll through to 11pm.

Kids under 16 go free if accompanied by an adult.

Get tickets in advance from Odells Ironmongers or on the door on the day.
