Artist Paul Horton brings his 'So Far, So Good - The Farewell Tour' to Milton Keynes

Paul Horton, an artist who has enjoyed 40 years as a leading figure in contemporary art, is to receive a solo show of his work in Milton Keynes, starting this week.

The exhibition, ‘So Far, So Good – The Farewell Tour’, will run at Castle Galleries in thecentre:mk before visiting 15 other galleries this autumn on a highly anticipated UK tour.

Paul will be at the gallery on the launch day (October 8) between 1-4pm to launch the exhibition which will include a selection of his most popular works to date.

He has also produced five new signed limited editions and two boutique pieces especially for the tour, which will be Paul’s last collaboration with the UK’s leading fine art publishers, Washington Green.

Born and bred in Birmingham, Paul studied drawing and painting at Bournville School of Art before embarking on his career as a professional artist. The city’s industrial legacy has inspired many of the scenes and characters in his work and informed his own working class ethic.

The art talent has enjoyed a phenomenally successful career with more than 200 limited edition pieces and approaching 40 sculptures in his portfolio to date – many of which sold out upon release. Exhibiting professionally since 1976, Paul joined forces with Washington Green in 1998, publishing his first limited edition works with the company in 2001.

During his 18 years working with Washington Green, Paul has undertaken 10 tours which have seen him exhibit his work at galleries across the UK, from Edinburgh to Exeter and Cardiff to Cambridge.

In 2013, Paul’s ‘Love & Hope’ collection was exhibited at Birmingham Museum Art Gallery – a hugely successful show which saw 1,500 visitors attend in last three days alone.

“The life of an artist is a very special one and creativity is everything; I’ve been exhibiting my art for over 40 years and the passion of the young aspiring artist still burns bright," Paul said.

“I’m extremely proud of all the tours and events that have taken place over the years, especially the ‘Love & Hope’ Museum Exhibition in 2013. I’m constantly amazed and thrilled by the wonderful reaction from my collectors who have made a connection to my work, their rich interpretation has been both rewarding and humbling.”
