Synopsis
In this spin-off from the main Fast & Furious series of films, CIA operative Lucas Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) teams up with mercenary Declan Shaw (Jason Statham) to help Shaw’s sister Hattie (Vanessa Kirby) who has deliberately infected herself with a lethal, intelligent pathogen in order to thwart the efforts of genetically enhanced terrorist Brixton Lore (Idris Elba). The duo loathe each other after a previous assignment but must put aside their differences to bring Brixton down.

We are now onto part nine in the long-running franchise. 18 years have passed since the first installment starring the late Paul Walker and Vin Diesel (he, who?!).
And what have we audience members gleaned from the makers of these films? What special knowledge have they imparted?
Well, to paraphrase the immortal words of Madonna, men like cars that go very fast, but they never last, no, no!
For this spin-off - which will no doubt earn a packet at the box office and usher in a new, 20 year long series, starring increasingly geriatric male hunks - we have the same routine of manly face-offs, meticulously constructed wise cracks and high octane chases that destroy a hefty amount of vehicles.
On the plus side, if the series continues, long may co-star Vanessa Kirby reign - she's a fantastic, super-cool, lady-like addition.
