A new collection of special lyrical poems has been released by a Milton Keynes author.
The pieces have all been inspired by Lesley Kahney's love of the tiny island of Eilean Bàn. Lying off the Isle of Skye, the picturesque spot was the final home of the author Gavin Maxwell, author of Ring of Bright Water.
Having worked as a teacher and educational psychologist, Lesley is now retired and often visits the Isle of Skye whereshe volunteers and finds inspiration for her poetry and painting.
Lesley spent time as a volunteer warden on the island, and has treasured memories of observing the otters, seals and dolphins; soaking in the rhythms of the sea, clouds and nature.
As if the glimpses of a vanishing Scotland with its bothies, otters and selkies aren't enough, Lesley's connection with the place she loves spills from the pages of A Spoondrift of Pearls with a dedicated passion.
'Here is an invitation to immerse yourself in the scent of sea mists and bluebells, and to give your attention in every moment to being part of nature,' invites the book blurb.
Use Lesley's evocative words to swap the confines of 2020 for a place of beauty where your mind can run free.
A Spoondrift of Pearls by Lesley Kahney is out this week and retails at £7.99.
