Award-winning historical drama The Black Prince - based on the poignant life story of the last King of Punjab – Maharajah Duleep Singh, his relationship with Queen Victoria and his struggle to reclaim his throne during Britain’s occupation of India., opens at cineworld Milton Keynes this week.
Featuring an acclaimed cast including Jason Flemyng (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch) Amanda Root (The Iron Lady), and Shabana Azmi (City of Joy, Reluctant Fundamentalist), David Essex OBE and acclaimed singer-poet Satinder Sartaaj, the delivery carefully captures the tragic yet fascinating true story and legacy of Maharajah Duleep Singh, providing a visual narrative of one of India’s noblest kings and his fragile relationship with Queen Victoria, who was godmother to his children.
The film releases on July 21 in Milton Keynes, and worldwide.
