The red carpet was rolled out in Milton Keynes on Monday night, for the premiere of modern gangster thriller, King of Crime.
Much of the film was made here in the new city. Local lady Linda Dunscombe is the screenwriter and produced the piece along with James Welling.
Milton Keynes was also well represented in the cast, with local face done swell, Jonno Davies.
He is famed for his work on Kingsman: The Secret Service, and also enjoyed a long, successful engagement on Broadway, taking the lead in A Clockwork Orange.
Fellow cast members Mark Wingett (Quadrophenia, The Bill), Claire King (Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Bad Girls), Rachel Bright (Eastenders), Hainsley Lloyd Bennett (Eastenders, Pennyworth) and Jack Loy (Bite, Doctors) joined Jonno, Linda and James at the bash.
When Marcus King, Britain’s most notorious cybercriminal, finds himself at the mercy of some extremists, he knows it’s time to settle some old scores, play one of the biggest scams of his life, and defeat the terrorists.
It’s just a question of whether he can manoeuvre his footsoldiers, protect his wife, and decipher some double‐crossing before he’s safe in the land of milk and honey.
Cybercrime and terrorism are some of the most prevalent issues of today, and King Of Crime’s bold look mirrors that modernism.
The film sharply spotlights the topics at hand, and draws you into a world of deception and violence – a fresh voice within a recognisable genre.
It does this, in part, with the familiar English aesthetic and that of a sleek style, for a cross-‐country affair of dangerous, dramatic thrills.
A modern of version of The Long Good Friday, meets Swordfish, King Of Crime will be out in select cinemas this Friday, and out on Home Ent and Digital release early next year.
