Total MK is fully signed up to their axe-wielding assault, from their fingers in the air rude gestures to their most potent, thrilling of live numbers – from the frantic Stay Down and tongue-in-cheek Kiss Tried to Kill Me, to the brilliant Easy Peasy (which was never better delivered than stripped back at a sodden Sonisphere festival a couple of years back).
Yup, Black Spiders are back, and ready to weave their web of rawk at Wolverton haunt The Craufurd Arms this Friday evening (May 29).
For the uninitiated, here's a few oft-heard, but always worth repeating facts about Sheffield's finest.
They have opened shows for artists including Danzing, Turbonegro and Dwarves, and were chosen to support Ozzy Osbourne at the iTunes Festival.
Ozzy picked them himself from a pile of 500 bands, and when he saw them play, was wowed enough to offer them a slot on the UK leg of OzzFest.
Two albums have been crafted and cut loose to date – Sons of the North and This Savage Land, and they've racked up an impressive list of rock royalty tipping praise their way – GnR's Duff McKagan, Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx and Anthrax ace Scott Ian have all given them the horn, shall we say, or at least the thumbs up.
But that was then. Actually though, it's now too.
They still peddle blisteringly ballsy metal, and are still potent riff bringers deserving of your time.
You bring the whisky, they'll bring the grit, swagger and anthems.
Support from Beasts - get along nice and early. Tickets £10.
