To those of us working within the same four walls, life on the road sounds pretty tasty, right?
The open road, a revolving door of faces and places and all that enriching stuff...
But not so, says David Ramirez who has clocked up a bonkers 260,000 miles travelled in his 2006 Kia Rio.
“I've learned a lot from being alone and isolated,” he says, and it's true that until recently he toured alone – no band, no manager, no-no-one beside him.
“Yes, it's romantic in a way. But it has also been kind of rough on my head and my heart.
“After a while it made it difficult to connect with people on a personal level when I got home.
“In hindsight, I can see that it's been kind of detrimental...”
Having taken a break from the sounds, he has returned stronger, and rather than the support act, David is the main attraction.
And new album, Fables, in the racks, the man and the musician is moving on.
On Saturday night (April 30) the American player will be live at Tingewick Village Hall in Buckingham.
Doors open at7.30pm and tickets are £10 in advance, £12 on the doors.
